Personal Experience
Mike grew up in Southern Minnesota but has deep roots in South Dakota. His wife grew up just north of Sioux Falls and his mother grew up on a farm east of Huron
With close to 30 years of experience in the practice of law and nearly 100 jury trials to his credit, Mike has extensive courtroom experience. Mike’s practice focuses on civil litigation, including personal injury, insurance bad faith, construction defects, and general contract claims as well as will, probate and trust litigation.
Mike and his wife Victoria have two grown children. Mike enjoys woodworking and collecting anything John Deere.
Membership & Activities
Mike is a member of the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice. Mike has been a faculty member of both the Minnesota and Indiana trial schools as well as a presenter at several Continuing Legal Education programs. He has served on the boards of several organizations, including mental health organizations, school fundraising organizations, and church boards.
Education
Mike graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1996 and the University of Minnesota Law School in 1999.
Mike is admitted to practice in the state courts of South Dakota, Minnesota and Indiana. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court in South Dakota.
